SPRING IS ON THE HORIZON!

Jo and Faith would like to take time to thank all of our customers and supporters for seven wonderful years at Quilt Therapy. Can you believe it, we’ve been here for seven years! As Faith says, we’re “having more fun than should be legal."

In mid-April, Faith will assume the role of sole owner of Quilt Therapy. Jo has decided that she needs freedom to sew more, design more, teach more and travel more. That doesn’t mean that Jo will disappear from our midst—we would miss her too much for that. No, she will remain as a teacher and fill in at the shop.

New and exciting at Quilt Therapy: Big Sky from South Sea Imports IS the beautiful northwest on fabric—you have to see it to believe it! This line has been very popular, come and get it before it is all gone. Fraktur Fancy from P&B is a more traditional look, the main prints remind me of Tole Painting, it is just beautiful. Lotus from Makower is a soft rose, pink and brown line that is so pretty. Alexander Henry Fabrics have outdone themselves with their Ready for Action” firemen—washboard stomachs, lots of muscles bulging in all the right places and not a shirt in sight. Ladies, you have to come in and check this out.

Boku yarn from Plymouth continues to be a very popular item. We now carry several colors and will continue to add more as they become available. Shire Silk from Plymouth is a lovely yarn, the colors are soft and lend themselves well to both garments and accessories. Debbie Stoller has added a new book to her line of successful “Stitch and Bitch” books. The new “Son of Stitch and Bitch” contains projects to knit and crochet for the men in your life.

Block of the Month: Starts January 2. The 2008 Block of the Month entitled “Bird Brain” will be 12” pieced blocks that happen to have bird titles. You will purchase a background and a “theme” fabric to start, and then each month receive the pattern and a fat quarter of your choice to coordinate with your theme fabric. Pay $45 for the year. You may also opt to pay $4 per month. Patterns will be available the first of each month. There is no class involved, but we are always happy to help you if needed. Finally Jo has found a way to combine quilting and birding in one neat package!

Monthly Minis Kit of the Month from Patch Abilities: Starts Jan 8. Optional class the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. for $5, with Sue to assist you putting your kit together and showing you machine and embroidery stitches to embellish your Mini and make it special. Please be aware that we need to know in December if you are interested in this program as we have to pre order patterns and make kits. Kits are $14.99 per month (and include the pattern, fabric, and buttons). Come see the cute samples that are hanging. We also carry other patterns and kits by Patch Abilities that are not included in the Kit of the Month.
