Class Policies

• Pre-registration & payment is required prior to each class. Payment is required at the time of registration; we will not hold your spot unless you have paid. Registration by phone requires credit card payment.
• After registering for the class you will receive a 10% discount on supplies and materials needed for the class.
• If you cannot attend the class, you may send someone in your place. Please let us know of the substitution.
• We have four sewing machines available for classes. If you choose to bring your own, make sure your sewing machine is in good working order. We cannot fix or repair your machine.
• Please bring all supplies as required on supply list to each class.
• Please arrive on time & come prepared.
• No refunds for late cancellations & no shows. If we do cancel a class we will give you 5 days notice and a full credit. If you cancel a class please give us 5 days notice so that we may give you a full refund.
• Thank you for your cooperation!

CLASS SCHEDULE • SPRING-SUMMER 2008

CLASS: Beginning Quilting Beginning Quilting
WHEN: Six Tuesdays from April 8 thru May 13, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
COST: $40
INSTRUCTORS: Jo & Faith
DESCRIPTION: This 6-week beginner’s series uses the required textbook, It’s Elementary" by Eleanor Burns. Learn all the basics of piecing a quilt top including strip piecing, half square triangles, flying geese, quarter square triangle, borders and more!. Fun for all levels, but we assume you have no experience for this class.

CLASS: Binding Basics
WHEN: April 10, Thursday, 5:30-8 p.m.
COST: $20, bring a fat quarter, all else provided.
INSTRUCTOR: Faith
DESCRIPTION: Learn everything you every wanted to know and more about binding your quilts for that perfect finish! You will be learning how to apply binding, how to make bias binding, stitching by hand or machine, and alternate finishing techniques.

CLASS: Spinning
WHEN: April 12, Saturday 10:00-4:00
COST: $40 includes drop spindle and roving from Carol’s sheep
INSTRUCTOR: Carol Etchemendy
DESCRIPTION: Learn to spin on a drop spindle and then try out a spinning wheel. Bring your own wheel if you have one, or use one of Carol’s. Learn this relaxing, ancient art and join the ranks of spinners.

DESCRIPTION: Karla wil show you how to use No-Melt Mylar for your appliqué projects.

CLASS: Victorian Star Table Runner
WHEN: April 19, Saturday, 10:00–2:00

DESCRIPTION: Learn to put together this very popular table runner with a folded star. The three dimensional appearance can be achieved with hand stitching, machine stitching with invisible clear thread or decorative threads. A fun and unique project!

DESCRIPTION: Your introduction to this traditional quilt design will be a Nine Ring Double Wedding Ring quilt. Amanda will show you her tried and true method using Marti Michell's template set. If you have ever wanted to make one of these beautiful quilts but were daunted by the small pieces and all those curves, this is the class for you. Come in and see our beautiful samples.

DESCRIPTION: Learn how to use fuseable interfacing for easy appliqué. We will be having a Magic Vine Quilt class in the Fall that uses this technique.

CLASS: Snake River Log Cabin

DESCRIPTION: Judy Martin's Log Cabin Quilt Book contains this beautiful quilt inspired by a Drunkard's Path. It has a curved illusion that is accomplished with the use of squares and triangles. The scalloped log border echoes the curves of the blocks.

CLASS: Hand Quilting

DESCRIPTION: Learn the basics of hand quilting with traditional style and big stitch with perle cotton as well. We offer lots of tips and techniques to get you started. Sampler, needles, and thread provided and some practice hoops are available to try as well.

CLASS: Crazy Goose Chase

DESCRIPTION: Learn the fabulous Buggy Barn technique of stack, slash, and switch. No worries about matching points and corners-its’ supposed to be wonky! A great way to use up stash and assorted fabric collections.

CLASS: Kids Can Quilt

COST: $30, includes book

DESCRIPTION: We will be making a lap-sized quilt in this four-day class. Students must be 10 years of age or older. A basic straight stitch on a sewing machine should be praticed prior to class. A handout with supply list is available when you sign up. Kids are welcome to bring an adult if they wish (at no extra charge). Class repeats July 22-25.

COST: $10 per hour, times arranged individually
INSTRUCTOR: Louise
DESCRIPTION: Call or come in to arrange a time with Louise for a basic knitting session to learn how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off.
